Our History

Dr. John Burress D.O. is passionate about his patients and giving them innovative, science-backed treatment options for conditions that can occur and worsen with aging. That should read when you arrive at Lady Lake Family Medicine, you immediately feel at home.

The southern hospitality-inspired porch and rocking chairs welcome you at the main entrance. Laid back and down to earth, himself, it’s no wonder his staff and patients affectionately refer to him simply as “Dr. B.”

Dr. John Burress began Lady Lake Family Medicine in 2002 with his lovely wife Sharon and have grown it to become one of the areas premier medical centers encompassing both family medicine, venous and lymphatic medicine and regenerative medicine. Dr. Burress is a third generation Floridian and cares deeply about bringing state of the art medicine to his patients throughout the various clinics within The Burress Medical Center.

Jane Johansson

Jane Johansson, BA, MSN, APRN-BC grew up in Cinnaminson, NJ, then her family moved to the rural town of New Hartford, Ct. She attended the University of Connecticut, graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to the national honor society Phi Beta Kappa with a BA degree in communications/journalism in 1985. Several years later she attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Waterbury, Ct and earned her RN certification in 1994 and worked in acute care for 18 yrs. Jane then returned to the University of Connecticut and earned a master's degree in nursing and sat for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Acute Care adult/geriatric board certification exam in 2012, which has been renewed every 5 years. Jane continues her passion for knowledge and up to date medical information by completing over 400 hours of continuing medical education every 5 years. Jane has worked in medical oncology/hematology at Yale New Haven Hospital/Smilow Cancer Hospital in Ct. and Florida Cancer Specialists in Lady Lake, Fl. Jane has additional APRN experience in internal medicine, Geriatrics and pain management, all to better serve our patients.
